UX Designer

Organic is looking for a UX Designer to join their team in Exeter.

As UX Designer for Organic, you’ll be a key proponent of our ‘human-centred’ design process, ensuring that all of Organics products are considered from the users perspective. This includes a mix of strategic, conceptual and hands-on problem solving and design to ensure that Organic understands the user and their core needs to create solutions that are truly user focused.

What you’ll be doing:

• Help to plan and conduct user research and competitor analysis and interpret data and qualitative feedback
• Auditing and analysis of existing websites, undertaking heuristic evaluations and planning improvements
• Creating personas from user research
• Using tools like Customer Journey Maps, scenarios and user flows
• Create Information Architecture and site maps
• Design and deliver wireframes, user stories, user journeys, mockups and prototypes optimised for a wide range of devices and interfaces
• Help plan and execute usability testing on new and existing products
• Take a human-centered design approach and rapidly test and iterate your designs
• Plan and manage your own workflow, we do have PM support but you are the expert and must be able to plan your activities in detail
• Meet with clients to gather information about their requirements
• Work collaboratively with Designers, Developers, Project Managers, Account Directors and Stakeholders
• Presenting designs to project stakeholders – Liaise regularly with clients to ensure that designs meet their requirements and core business objectives
• Run workshops with internal teams and / or stakeholders
• Always ask “why”

What you’ll need:

• Three or more years of UX design experience
• Analytical skills with an ability to derive relevant outputs from research
• Exposure to and an understanding of UX research and it’s techniques. You don’t have to have lead it, but participation in research is beneficial
• Involvement in planning and running UX workshops, from requirements gathering to customer journey mapping sessions and beyond. Again, you don’t have to have run them but participation and understanding of how and why is beneficial
• Able to prioritise work in order to meet deadlines, whilst giving attention to detail
• Ability to create a clear narrative, through work and presentations
• A solid grasp of interaction design and information architecture
• Proficient in design software (we use Figma, Sketch, XD)
