NYC is lit up with Canon’s smart billboards displaying #RealTimeTips that are sure to up your photography game!
Canon is giving tourists and keen photographers a source of excitement by placing pop-up billboards in New York City’s prime photography locations.
Three smart billboards are placed at the Flatiron, Central Park South (5th Ave and 59th Street) and the Brooklyn Bridge at Fulton Ferry. Each is powered by real-time API data including weather conditions, location, traffic, time of day, as well as, 200 photography tips gathered from social networks.
On another digital billboard outside of Madison Square Garden, Canon will also be sharing the best tips to capture sport events prior to the Rangers and Knicks game, and also concert photography tips for the Billy Joel fans in Thursday’s show.
Canon will also have expert photographers provide in-the-moment tips and an array of Canon cameras, lenses and filters for people to use, at the locations during certain times of the day.
Canon’s tips cover pointers on how to capture sharp sunsets, blurred traffic lights, iconic places in New York, views in times of rain and fog or at the dawn of the day and more.
Here’s the billboard at Brooklyn Bridge counting down to the “magic hour” when the sun is setting and the scene is perfect for the best angle, lighting and background to get a magical shot:
The project was handled by 360i Digital Marketing Agency.
Canon promotes a brilliant microsite CanonPhotoTips.com proffering 100 stunning cinemagraphs and more inspiring photo tips. Canon also promises to respond in real-time to all those who post on social media using hashtag #RealTimeTips.
Rather than promoting its own range of cameras, Canon is instead highlighting its photography credentials and providing actionable content for all those who are looking to take their craft of photography to a whole new level.
As far as Canon is concerned, a picture is worth a thousand words, and it’s worth even more if it’s shot by a Canon!
