Nike’s Propose Is To ‘Love Your Dream Until It Loves You Back’

In collaboration with Nike, young French footballer Kylian Mbappé’s dreams become global and inspirational.

The brand reveals the first collection from French footballer Kylian Mbappé. The Parisian-born athlete grew up in the suburb of Bondy, dreaming of playing professionally and looking up to stars who had their own Nike collaborations.

The 20-year-old is widely regarded as one of the best soccer players in the world, and at the FIFA World Cup in 2018, he became only the second teenager in history to score a goal in the final—a feat previously achieved only by the legendary Pelé.

In a seamless side-by-side spot, Mbappés both young and not-quite-as-young train, dribble, score and celebrate—the child version dreaming of a future in the spotlight, and the adult reaping the benefits of more than a decade of good habits.

“Bondy is always in my heart; it’s where I found and fell in love with football,” says the French number 10. “It helped shape me as a person and as a player. I have a lot to be thankful for and it is special that Bondy is at the center of this collection. Back then I had my heroes and many of them had their own special edition Nike boot, so to join them in now having one of my own is a dream come true.”

The French number 10 studies the game with the same intensity as when he was 10. He still arrives early to train and leaves late. And he still dreams of more. The tagline ends with, “Love your dream until it loves you back”.
