The New IKEA Catalog Commercial Is Sure To Make You Smile

IKEA Belgium creates a “starstruck” video commercial about “stars” of the New IKEA catalog which is sure to raise a smile.

Meet the stars of the New IKEA Catalog: They are undeniably perfect in playing the real whimsical movie stars figures…

IKEA Belgium and DDB Brussels collaborated on this project for the debutant issue of the new IKEA catalog.

The smart, traditional and funny characters from the catalog are over-excited. Therefore, the commercial video is all about them, rather than the furniture. They mention how crucial their role is for the catalog, and “over-exaggerate” their part in a humoristic way.

Check it out here for yourself:

DDB, said about the commercial,

The Ikea catalog is one of the most read books in the world. So it makes sense for the models to consider this their breakthrough moment. Their door opener to stardom. We listen in as they dream out loud of becoming household names in TV, modeling, acting and mentally preparing themselves for a life in the spotlight.

DDB, also added:

In theory, they will be seen by more than 200 million people, but in reality they’ll be noticed by zero. After all, the real stars of the Ikea catalog are Swedish, and they have names like Billy, Pax and Malm.
