Impression’s Latest White Paper Helps You Prepare for a Privacy-First Web
Digital growth agency, Impression, has published a guide to provide visibility on the changes happening in the world of web privacy, advising which solutions to implement to tackle the upcoming challenges.
Over the last few years, web browsers have taken steps to remove or restrict third-party cookies.
Browsers such as Brave are built with user privacy in mind by automatically blocking tracking cookies, and others like Firefox and Safari have implemented similar measures. By the end of 2023, Google Chrome will follow suit.
These changes have been introduced in response to increasing consumer concerns around how personal data is used online.
Last year, searches for “online privacy” grew by more than 50% and a recent study by Google revealed that almost 60% of consumers believe that companies are selling their data. Despite these concerns, the same study showed that 74% of those surveyed only want to be shown relevant ads.
The deprecation of third-party cookies is most certainly a step in the right direction when it comes to consumer privacy but it does introduce challenges for advertisers.
It will be much harder to accurately measure the performance of marketing activity and to gain important insights into customer behavior.
Advertisers have the challenge of respecting consumers’ rights to privacy whilst continuing to provide a positive online experience by serving ads that are relevant and timely.
With this in mind, the team at Impression has created a guide to explore different solutions available to advertisers to mitigate business disruption.
What will you learn from this guide:
- An overview of the privacy landscape; the past, the present and the future
- What third-party cookies are and the impact of their depreciation
- Ways to maximize your first-party data collection
- Platform solutions such as server-side tagging, consent mode and enhanced conversions
