Squarespace Teams Up With John Malkovich To Launch His New Business

Very well-known actor, John Malkovich’s true passion is to be a fashion designer. So, Squarespace collaborates with him in this new journey.

From actor to fashion designer, Mr. Malkovich reveals his secret passion via a new online project. To spread it around the world, the website development company, Squarespace partners, develops and produces the project, JohnXHannes, a creative collective based in New York. The two previously collaborated in another project called Playing Lynch: Capturing the Big Idea. Yet, this project is under “Make Your Next Move” campaign that endorses people to create their own online enterprises.

Squarespace sets the time of the “Make Your Next Move” campaigns to the New Year as people set resolutions. Debuted yesterday, as a part of the campaign, the short film “Journey” reveals the challenges Mr. Malkovich faces as he attempts to build a reputation as a serious designer.

Let’s watch the video of the campaign, here:

The campaign was produced by Smuggler and Flower Ave., directed by Miles Jay and photographed by Zach Gold.

About this collaboration, Mr. Malkovich says,

I was approached nearly two years ago by a photographer I’ve worked with in Chicago, Sandro Miller. He suggested a project for Squarespace for the David Lynch Foundation, which ended up being a recreation of scenes from some of David’s most famous characters to benefit his foundation. So that’s how I first came into contact with Squarespace and I thought they were very smart. I approached them about whether they’d be interested in helping me realize this project.

In conjunction with the project, John Malkovich and Squarespace also collaborated to create a custom online store for JOHNMALKOVICH.COM to allow people buy more items.

Do you know that Mr. Malkovich began his career as a costume designer?
