eDesign Interactive Created a “Fruit First” Experience for Welch’s® Fruit Snacks

eDesign Interactive helped Welch’s® Fruit Snacks with their web design, user experience, front-end development, user interface design, project management, web animation, product photography, and copyediting services.

140 Years Tradition

For over 140 years, Welch’s® has been turning beautiful fruit, proudly grown on family farms, into delicious juices, jams and jellies. This tradition led to a popular fat-free, gluten-free snack, made with farm-grown fruits, and no preservatives. From tree to bag, each serving contains 100% of the daily-recommended value of vitamin C and 25% DV Vitamins A&E.

The Opportunity

Welch’s Fruit Snacks needed a contemporary website for the U.S. and Canada in both English and French. As the brand’s “face,” they wanted the website to communicate “fruit first” messaging in a way that would appeal to their core audience of Millennial and Young Gen X parents. Must-haves included product information, where to buy functionality, and an easy-to-update CMS.

After immersing themselves in the company and developing a creative brief, eDesign Interactive worked on bringing the brand to life.

Mouthwatering Experience Loved by the Whole Family

They designed a website that feels fun, fresh and vibrant while keeping the design simple and authentic. To convey that Welch’s® Fruit Snacks come in three distinct and delicious varieties, they presented each product with its own unique color code, lending a distinct charm and visual identity to each snack type.

In addition to implementing a user-friendly WordPress CMS and a robust store locator, eDesign Interactive launched Welch’s fruit snacks Canada, complete with a French-Canadian language version.

Welch’s® Fruit Snacks comes in three distinct and delicious varieties: Welch’s® Fruit Snacks, Welch’s® Fruit ‘n Yogurt™ Snacks and Welch’s® Fruit Rolls. eDesign Interactive presented each product with its own unique color code, giving each snack variety its own charm and visual identity.

How It Went

Playful animations, oversized fruit images, and bold colors showcase the brand’s appeal as a wholesome, mouthwatering snack that puts fruit first. The eDesign team is proud to share that the new Welch’s® Fruit Snacks site won the 2019 Gold Davey and W3 awards for their food and beverage categories. They built on this achievement by designing a vibrant web page for the launch of Promotion in Motion’s new confection line, Gummi FunMix, which won a Silver Davey Award for Best Website Design.
