WhatsApp has officially launched its new app as a separate app that small businesses can use to connect with their customers.
Including the UK and the US, the app has also rolled out in Indonesia, Italy and Mexico and planned to have a worldwide rollout. The new venture, WhatsApp Business may count as an addition of business profiles and new messaging tools, aimed at business customers as the company’s future plan to generate revenue by charging bigger enterprises for advanced tools to communicate with customers on the platform, which has currently 1.3 billion users.
So, here’s a quick guide on how to manage your personal and business accounts, and make sure you choose the option that could work best for you.
• One phone and one app: When a user moves his current business number to WhatsApp Business. This option is practical if a user currently only uses WhatsApp for business purposes and doesn’t intend to use WhatsApp or the associated phone number for personal issues onward.
• One phone and two apps (different mobile number): When a user registers a different mobile number for WhatsApp Business, may download both Whatsapp Business and his personal WhatsApp on the same device, however both the accounts will have different numbers. This option is practical if a user primarily uses one device for business but still wants to have admission to his personal WhatsApp service during working hours.
• One phone and two apps (different landline number): When a user registers a landline number for WhatsApp Business, may download both WhatsApp Business and his personal WhatsApp on the same device, but both the accounts will have different numbers. This option is practical if a user has a personal phone and WhatsApp account and a landline for his business, however wishes to accept messaging at that number moving forward.
• Two numbers: One phone for businesses use and one phone for personal use. This option is practical if a user would like to keep his personal and work phones and his accounts all separate.
