The file-transfer company WeTransfer wants to improve its product and design teams with the help of Present Plus.
As most of you already know, WeTransfer is an online file-transferring platform that competes with the likes of Dropbox and Box. They have recently announced the acquisition of Present Plus, a design agency based in London and Amsterdam.
In the blog post announcing the acquisition, WeTransfer said:
With more than half of its global users working in the creative industries, design has always been central to WeTransfer’s mission and culture. In acquiring Present Plus, the company is doubling down on this commitment.
Present Plus team will join WeTransfer’s offices in Amsterdam to work on product design for new design-driven launches, such as revamped user interface for WeTransfer.com and a desktop app for OS X.
WeTransfer and Present Plus have history together.
Nalden is the Co-founder for both companies and Present Plus designed several of WeTransfer’s products, including its iOS app.
This is how founder and chairman of WeTransfer described their cooperation:
We share a similar passion for design, software, culture, and storytelling, and we are excited to bring them in house.
From now on, Nalden will lead the design team within WeTransfer and Damian Bradfield will become the Chief Marketing Officer.
WeTransfer says it has more than 85 million transfers per month which calculates to over 1 billion transfers annually. Company is on track to double the number of transfers this year to 2 billion with the help of Present Plus.
