WeThink Nordic and Danish Technological Institute Focus on Wood Construction With a New Digital Platform

Wood must become a part of the future constructions in the councils throughout the Nordic countries – this is helped by WeThink Nordic and Teknologisk Institut.

Wood in Construction is going to develop a Nordic digital platform, that is going to help councils in the Nordic countries construct more buildings in wood. WeThink Nordic and Teknologisk Institut have been chosen to accomplish the task.

Wood is sustainable, Nordic and aesthetic. Together with Wood in Construction, WeThink Nordic and Teknologisk Institut are going to develop a new digital platform, that is going to provide councils with more knowledge of wood construction. The goal is to help the councils in The Nordic countries with more information and guidance so that they can and will construct more in wood and thereby achieve climate demands.

A Nordic digital platform with great visions

The Nordic digital platform aims to be inspiring and knowledge exchanging. It is going to help open the Nordic borders so that councils are able to meet each other across the Nordic countries and share knowledge and experiences regarding wood in construction.

The platform has been started by Wood in Construction, a union of knowledge and innovation, that aims to hasten the transition to a carbon-free economy. Among other things, this happens by identifying and supporting innovation, that helps the society reducing and adjusting to climate changes.

Ghita Holst, Strategy Director and Partner at WeThink, says:

At WeThink we are very dedicated to sustainable solutions, which is why this project fits our DNA perfectly. We have our Nordic point of reference and experience with several projects that aim to gather and mediate political messages mixed with thought out UX. This is combined with Teknologisk Institut and their great knowledge of wood. They will develop an informative platform, that is going to help a lot of councils in the future.

With more than 30 employees, Teknologisk Institut is the largest information centre of construction in wood in Denmark, concerning this area on a national as well as an international level. For instance, Teknologisk Institut is the coordinator in a huge EU-project, Build-in-Wood, in collaboration with a long row of international partners. The project is going to contribute to the increasing use of wood in tower block constructions across Europe. This knowledge and experience will be carried on to the Nordic platform.

Peder Fynholm, Souschef at Teknologisk Institut comments:

At Teknologisk Institut we aim to strengthen the business community when facing the technological and occupational challenges of the future. Also, when it comes to the use of wood in construction, we have great knowledge and a large network, which will benefit everyone in this project. In order to reach the councils, it is very important to have a professional partner like WeThink Nordic on the team. Their high level of competence and their Nordic touch, combined with our professional knowledge regarding buildings in wood is the perfect match in order to deliver a strong digital platform to the councils in the Nordic countries so that we will be able to build safely and sound with more wood in the constructions.

The project has been offered in all of the Nordic countries.
