Twitter Announces The BrandBowl Winners – Brilliant Campaigns Created For Super Bowl

At the end of this January, Twitter has announced its first ever official competition, #BrandBowl to reward the best campaigns and brands on Twitter. Now that we know the first champions!

This year, Twitter has been a popular platform for the Super Bowl fans to talk about #SB52. While the conversation was getting deeper, the creative ads were not lagging behind.

As it’s promised, Twitter is pleased to recognize the remarkable campaigns that kept the conversation going on Twitter with the winner of their first-ever #BrandBowl52.

According to their first announcement about the competition, winners were going to be categorized as follows:

#MVP: Brand with the highest percentage of all brand related Tweets during #SB52
#Blitz: Brand who drove the highest velocity of most Tweets-per-minute
#QuarterBack: Brand with the most Retweets on a single Tweet during #SB52
#Interception: Brand without a national TV spot that drove the highest % of brand conversation

Here are the winners of each category:

With their #ForTheFans and #PepsiHalfTime Twitter strategy, Pepsi became the winner of #MVP.

Featuring Peter Dinklage and Morgan Freeman, Doritos & Mountain Dew have reached 11,000 tweets with their #ICECOLD vs. #SPITFIRE strategy. Including #MTNDEWICE and #DoritosBlaze hashtags, they won the #Blitz award.

Jurassic World’s new trailer won the #QuarterBack award having the most retweeted tweet (16,000).

Ally Bank deserved to become a winner in the #Interception category since they have the amazing AR game which attracts fans’ attention with virtual money or golden balls to earn points.

Ryan Oliver, Head of Brand Strategy US/CAN at Twitter, said:

We saw a huge amount of excitement from brands participating in the first-ever #BrandBowl52 competition—and the campaigns that came to life on Twitter surely did not disappoint.

From Pepsi’s throwback ad to Doritos and Mountain Dew’s rap battle to the #TideAd stealing the show, we saw brands take different approaches and nailing the #BrandBowl conversation. We look forward to seeing how we can bring this competition to life for different events and moments in the future.

Twitter also honours brands that received the most interactions of all in-game brand conversation versus category competitors. You can see the winners below:
