The Potential Of Mobile, AI And Machine Learning Strategy And More At EBE19!

The E-commerce Berlin Expo 2019 returned for its fourth edition to STATION Berlin.

The potential of mobile, AI and machine learning strategy, customer engagement in the omnichannel world and industry predictions for 2019 were some of the most popular topics of the day. A successful fourth edition came to an end and there’s already plans for next year!


Wednesday, 20 February 2019 – Germany’s capital gathered for the E-commerce Berlin Expo 2019! 150 exhibitors from 21 countries, such as Finland, Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark, United Kingdom, France, Austria, Poland and Czech Republic, were present. 40 speakers discussed their insights on the industry on 4 stages and 5000 visitors showed up for the premium e-commerce event of Berlin.

With a gigantic exhibition space of 8000m2 across two halls, the event took place at Berlin’s historical landmark, STATION. Exhibitors included companies such as Avalara, Mollie, Kenshoo, CS-Cart, Edrone, Exponea, Händlerbund, Root360, Zenloop, Shopify, Aircall and Geizhals.

Visitors were able to participate in keynotes on 4 stages including speakers like Erik Meierhoff, (Head of B2B Business) Idealo – “E-Commerce Trends 2019 – fear and desire of German online-shoppers”, Christina Keller (Regional Head of Creative Shop) Facebook – “Pushing creative boundaries within the mobile space”, Constance Stein (Innovation Manager) Otto Group – “Blockchain for E-Commerce- everything retailers could do and what they really should do”, Christoph von Bülow (COO) HolidayPirates – “The Power of Social: How to build your brand without breaking the bank by creating viral content instead”.






Nuno Batista (Digital Marketing) Swatch Group – “Understanding Data Science: the basis of a successful AI and Machine Learning strategy”, Claes Larsson (Operations Lead Retail Core) Zalando – “The Pain-Points of Fashion P2P processes, and how to overcome them.”, Andri Fried (Head of Online Marketing) Marley Spoon and Shefali Bhatnagar (YouTube Action Lead) Google on a joint panel “[Case Study] How Marley Spoon increases brand awareness and purchases with an innovative campaign on Youtube?” and Thomas Ficht (Head of Payment) My Toys – “Making families happy – taking the pain out of paying”.

Tuesday evening prior to the event, the EBE19 networking party took place, hosting the E-commerce Germany Awards 2019. More than 350 e-commerce companies participated in 10 categories.
