The Future Is Green – Digital Experiences by Propeller Focusing on Sustainability
Propeller partners with their clients to deliver digital experiences for brands with a clear conscience.
Sustainability and green practices are becoming increasingly important to consumer preferences and ultimately, the long term success of brands. Many new businesses have been created on the basis of a gap in the market for an offering that satisfies the growing customer expectation that the brands that they support share their values and desire to protect the planet.
Sustainability is now far more mainstream than it has been considered in the past and can no longer be ignored or considered a concern of a small segment of the potential market.
This has been reflected in the uplift in related consumer search terms and the increasing focus for brands to tell their sustainability stories. Propeller is proud to partner with a number of brands who have developed sustainable products, practices and supply chains to deliver conscious options for consumers.
Jakke is an ethical fashion label born in 2015 by East London designer Nina Hopkins from her belief that fashion-forward women should be able to buy confidently into ethical fashion. jakke have always rejected the concept of seasonal fashion trends and advocate against the fast fashion trends that have been increasingly under the spotlight in recent years. Propeller partnered with jakke to bring you shopping with a clear conscience on Shopify, which showcases their incredible collection that is ethically made, cruelty free and designed to last.
From vegan leather and free from wool to their wear and care collection made from 100% recycled plastic bottles, they are always thinking about what impact their production has on the environment, including how their factories operate. Focusing on sustainable production practices reduces the environmental impacts associated with the fashion industry from water pollution and reduced energy consumption to recycling of non-biodegradable materials and ensuring safe and respectful working environments with manufacturing partners.
One of the core values of Fullgreen, is to make a positive impact on the health of people and the world around them. Their initiatives aim to contribute to the health of not just people but also the planet, and to ultimately leave a positive footprint. Some of the initiatives they are undertaking as part of their sustainability objectives include partnerships with Feeding Britain & Feeding America, One Tree Planted and TerraCycle®.
These partnerships are enabling them to distribute nutritious vegetable-based products to those who need it the most, with over 30,000 pouches donated in 2020. To help reduce their carbon footprint, they have also committed to planting 200 trees a month alongside other waste conscious initiatives. They are also working with pouch suppliers to develop single material recyclable packaging by 2024 and currently provide an opportunity for customers to recycle their used pouches with TerraCycle in the UK and US.
Beulah is a sustainable, commercial and creative vehicle that is providing alternative livelihoods to vulnerable women and fighting slavery through fashion. Their incorporation of women into their supply chain to gain meaningful employment and become economically indepedent to vulnerable and previously trafficked women, to break free from the cycle of exploitation and poverty, is driven by their vision for a world where slavery no longer exists.
They believe their responsibility extends throughout the value chain so they place strong emphasis on collaboration with impact partners, suppliers and customers to generate a bigger impact and greater change and prove that luxury fashion can be used as a force for good.
