The Evolution Of The Digital Agency Abstrakt

The digital agency Abstrakt was founded 13 years ago in Nottingham, UK as a very small agency. It was the time when agencies just started being popular in UK.

The agency started operation in a very small office, but with big dreams and ideas which cannot fit in the world. The team at Abstrakt started from scratch.


Lauren Swarbrick, the Account Director of Abstrakt stated:

Which in hindsight is probably a good thing, as starting an agency from nothing, and building it from the ground up, is one of the hardest things we have ever done. It’s also been one of the most rewarding, and I wouldn’t change any of it for the world.

The team succeeded in building an everlasting relationship with the local businesses. Their main values, transparency and honesty, have played an important role in doing so. Abstrakt even survived the recession in 2007.


They kept up with the updates and adapted to the new trends very quickly, which is one of the main reasons why they have been able to stand on their own feet since then.

Abstrakt partnered with small agencies and freelancers; however, that was not enough. They wanted to have a real team, who share the same dreams with them. In 2015, they did it! They also repositioned Abstrakt as a “digital” agency. Before that, it had been mostly focusing on the brand and print.


The digital agency Abstrakt appreciates every team member’s expertise, interests and skills, which have built the current Abstrakt culture. That is what makes a team a team!

Lauren Swarbrick also said:
