Titled “Taps”, Stella Artois and Water.org are bringing Matt Damon to the Super Bowl for the second time since 2011.
In collaboration with agency Mother London, AB InBev and Stella Artois brand are taking place in the Super Bowl campaign. “Taps” and the “Make Your Super Bowl Party Matter” campaign are the latest in the brand’s “Buy A Lady A Drink” project, that launched in 2015 and highlights the brand’s ongoing partnership with Water.org.
In the campaign, Damon, a co-founder of Water.org, addresses viewers about something they probably take for granted, “clean water at the turn of a tap.” The spot says that millions of people in the developing world spend up to 6 hours every day just collecting the water they need to survive. However, one, limited-edition Stella Artois Chalice may provide water to someone impacted by the global water crisis for 5 years.
By purchasing a limited-edition Chalice, you will help Water.org provide 5 years of clean water to someone who deserves their time back to spend on what matters most to them. In our 3-year partnership with Water.org, we have already helped over 1 million people gain access to clean water – and we need your help to reach even more. This Super Bowl, get involved.
Damon showcases the Stella Artois chalice, the center of the campaign since its inception, and asks viewers to purchase one chalice to provide five years of clean water for someone in the developing world.
Matt Damon commented,
If just 1 percent of viewers watching the Super Bowl this year purchased a chalice, we could help provide access to clean water for up to 1 million people in need,” Damon said in a statement. “Now with three simple ways to donate—through the purchase of a limited-edition chalice, a 12-pack or a pint at a bar—we’re making it easier than ever for consumers to help.
Stella Artois VP Harry Lewis says,
We’re excited to bring this global issue to a stage as big as the Super Bowl this year. I feel very privileged to work on a campaign that will help build a better world for millions of people.
Stella Artois announced an extension of its collaboration with Water.org at the beginning of last year, with the goal of providing “3.5 million people with long-term, sustainable access to clean water by 2020.”
