Publicis Groupe has chosen Microsoft to develop and launch Publicis’s global AI platform Marcel.
Marcel is the professional assistant powered by Artificial Intelligence and machine learning, released by Publicis Groupe last year in June.
It aims to bring all 80,000 employees in Publicis’s network together.
Enabling them to identify new projects and opportunities; to share their knowledge and skills as well as the industry experiences with their colleagues from 130 countries, Marcel would be a revolutionary environment that removes the borders of creativity for Publicis employees.
While Publicis is designing the user experience and the architecture part of Marcel through Publicis.Sapient, Microsoft will be developing the platform itself. The company will also be creating a connection to its technology know-how and Artificial Intelligence proficiency – empowering the products such as Azure AI and Office 365.
Arthur Sadoun, the chairman and CEO of Publicis shared in a statement that:
They have unparalleled resources, capabilities and expertise in artificial intelligence.
But we also chose Microsoft because they saw this as a true partnership, between two companies who have the same ambition: to radically change the way each of their industries work.
It’s this shared vision that will help turn Marcel into a real transformative force for our Groupe. And of course, in our line of work, nothing is more important than people.
The teams Microsoft has dedicated to Marcel are second to none, and we have the personal commitment of Satya Nadella, CEO of Microsoft, to follow the development from A-Z. I don’t need to tell you that this makes all the difference.
Satya Nadella, CEO of Microsoft,
At Microsoft, we believe that people no longer just work for companies—companies need to work for their people. Marcel embodies that belief. That’s what makes this collaboration so seamless and natural.
Last year, Publicis Groupe introduced Marcel and explained it better with a video shared on their YouTube channel:

As the Chip Register, CO-CEO of Publicis.Sapient promised in the video shared last year; Publicis has already started to put some of the world’s best strategists, engineers and creative developers together to built what would be a revolutionary tool for collaboration and creation.
Here is the video that Publicis Groupe continues to share more details about Marcel:

They have the vision to change the way of the industry work and the ambition to make this happen.
It seems that Publicis Groupe will continue to surprise us with the new updates of Marcel and hopefully they will achieve their goals so the industry members get inspired to dream further.
