Unilever has reinforced all of its search engine optimization and search engine marketing efforts at Resolution Media after a pitch.
Omnicom‘s search specialist agency Resolution will work with Omnicom Media Group media shop PHD, which handles most of the consumer goods giant’s global media communications planning, for global search engine optimization and search engine marketing duties. The two shops will partner on an integrated offering to service the account.
The shift of search business, which had primarily been handled by WPP Group agencies, comes amid Unilever’s global review of all of its media partners.
Addressing the search marketing review, the company issued a statement;
As has been reported Unilever is in the process of undertaking a global media review. Prior to commencement of this review, Unilever, quite separately, analyzed its search marketing requirements and, as a result, has appointed Resolution Media to work with them in this specialist area.
While spending on search could not immediately be determined, its total advertising and promotion budget was approximately $7.6 billion in 2013 according to company reports.
