Nike Revealed Its New NBA Connected Jersey, Designed With Hi-Tech Features

The Nike NBA Connected Jersey is released with an NFC chip-enable and is designed to connect fans and players.

Nike features NBA Connected Jersey that connects users to highlight trends, the latest scores, team and player stats, exclusive contents, training contents, latest news and more. All done by tapping a smartphone app.

The NikeConnect system embedded in the NBA jersey’s jock tag, and embedded with a NFC-(near field communication) chip that will bring customers closer to the game more than ever.

It all triggered from the NikeConnect logo on Jerseys and shoes, you’ll just need the NikeConnect app which is available on both Android and iOS. It’s also a gateway to buying tickets, getting rewards, game-day entertainment – all personalized to you.

Stefan Olander, Nike’s Vice President of Digital, comments about the new project,

This is more a matter of using technology in a smart way to better serve consumers with content and the product they love. You can imagine this in the future in more product types acting as the simplest way to get to that service that we have, with as little effort as possible.

There is a big difference between a shirt that has embedded heart rate that you have to charge in order to get a specific metric and this one. All you have to do is tap and immediately it gives you content and value. The other big hurdle is this is embedded: it doesn’t cost the consumer anything more.

What you’re seeing with Nike Connect is an angle that hasn’t been taken before. We bring the most innovative products there are to the game…When you think basketball, you think NBA and you think Nike.

Connected Jersey is launching just before the start of the NBA preseason, September 29 and will take place to be the exclusive supplier of jerseys and uniforms to the NBA. Prices range from $110 to $200.

The company promises that just by tapping the NikeConnect logo on the tags of jerseys and Nike shoes, fans get a world of content. Another brilliant idea from the world’s best-known apparel giant!
