Having launched their second print edition already, Nansen magazine is about the migrants of all kinds throughout the world.
Mimosa originally built their showcase and e-commerce website for the first edition of the magazine. The images shared on were the designs for the second edition made and processed by one of the founders, Eva Gonçalves who also re-designed the website using the originally planned infrastructure and e-commerce platform made on Squarespace. ‘The website is now can be considered as a showcase page, displaying the print edition of the magazine in the online platform. The print version of the magazine can be purchased from the website, and the pages are easy-to-read by clicking on the issues.
Nansen Magazine aims to connect and celebrate migrants of all kinds. By doing this, Nansen is getting to know one migrant per issue, honing in on the minutiae of lives lived away from ‘home’ – moments that all migrants can relate to, and many non-migrants can, too. For them, all, the word “migrant” conjures up a particular image and Nansen Magazine wants to expand the way each of us sees migrants and the way the migrants, see themselves. With 258 million migrants roaming the planet right now, the magazine doesn’t think they’re ever going to run out of stories.
The first issue of the Nansen Magazine was also shortlisted for Stack Magazines’ 2017 Launch of the Year award. Mimosa commented that they’re feeling great to see their clients grow!
