This Wednesday, 1 July, will mark 21 years since digital agency Luminary came into being.
To celebrate, the agency is trading canapés for a campaign to support its charity clients: Cancer Council Australia, The Fred Hollows Foundation, Heart Foundation, Our Watch, Save the Children, and UNICEF Australia.
Luminary founder and CEO Marty Drill said:
We were planning to have a party to celebrate our 21st birthday but as we’re not able to do that right now (due to our COVID Safe Plan) we wanted to put the money towards our charity clients, who are facing an extremely difficult economic situation.
Luminary has already made a $1000 cash donation to each of its six charity clients and has set up a campaign – ‘Causes to Celebrate’ – on Australian fundraising platform MyCause to encourage people to donate to the charities. The agency will then match the value of the funds donated with pro bono digital services up to the value of $50,000.
We’ve worked with a lot of charities and NFPs over the past two decades. With donations plummeting due to the pandemic, we really wanted to use our birthday as a way of supporting our charity clients.
Causes to Celebrate gives us a way to do something really positive to mark the start of our 22nd year in operation by helping our clients while giving donors a way to double their impact through our services. It also gives people a way to support six fantastic causes with a single contribution, as all of the funds and services will be distributed equally across the charities.
It can be hard to decide which charity to support, especially when your own funds might be more limited than usual. This way people can make a difference to a range of organisations whose services are very much in need right now.
Causes to Celebrate will run until the end of July, to celebrate Luminary’s 21st birthday month. All donations are tax deductible. Donations can be made through Luminary’s page on MyCause.
