Join The NYC Kids And Their Samsung Gadgets In This Ad By W+K Portland

The new spot for Samsung called “A Perfect Day” stars ‘new kids on the block’ playing with their fancy Samsung gadgets.  

Wieden+Kennedy Portland reveals a new ad for Samsung called “A Perfect Day” which shows some sneak-peeks of new generation technology gadgets. While a group of youngsters are hanging out together, they experience some 360° videos via Samsung Gear, film themselves while skateboarding and pay for a bottle of water using Samsung Pay.

As the NYC kids film themselves with their smartphones and Gear 360° cameras, an old man comes and the kids introduce Gear VR headset to him. The guy seems interested in the new technology that the kids use.

Later on, the kids swim together with their water-resistant smartphones and watch the videos of the park they filmed with their Gear 360° cameras. Even the kids’ mom calls them via one’s Gear S3 smartwatch and the kids say hello to their mom.

The way the environment, setting and scenes are presented in high-quality, using a street-theme is very cool. Nada Surf’s cover of The Pixies’ “Where Is My Mind” is set as the theme song to the spot. The catch-phrase of the video is ‘A Galaxy of Possibility’.

This ad is a nice effort to make people forget about Samsung’s recent problems.
