You seek to understand and leverage client challenges and work hard to creatively solve client objectives through design. You have the skills to create compelling visual concepts and graphic design for multiple mediums. At times, you may be the sole design lead on a project or may work in tandem with Creative Directors or Art Directors in all phases of execution for assigned projects – from concept development through to production.


Graphic Design & Visual Concept Development
• Lead the execution of creative concepts that speak to the client’s and end user’s goals by working closely with clients and your creative team leads
• Create leading-edge design for brand, print and interactive
• Execute simple production design projects quickly and effectively
• Participate in client meetings and pitches
• Extract creative thoughts and ideas from internal and client teams
• Drive the constant evolution of design as a storytelling tool
• Contribute new sources of creative inspiration to the creative team
• Work in partnership with the Accounts team toward shared project goals
• Work in partnership with the Development team to create digital design solutions
• Ability to provide constructive design feedback to design partners and vendors
• Provide constructive feedback and direction to designers and other team members in a proactive and motivating way
• Coach junior designers on gained knowledge and experience in graphic design


Technical Skills & Education:

• Degree in Fine Arts/Graphic Design; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
• 5+ years of graphic design experience (portfolio required)
• Proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud design software (Indesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, XD)
• Base knowledge and skills of Google Web Designer considered an asset (HTML5 animated digital ads)
• Ability to design logos and full visual identity packages for multiple industries
• Strong understanding of print production, file handling, paper knowledge and experience conducting press checks
• Illustration skills considered an asset
• Understanding of photography and the ability to direct photoshoots required
• Ability to take photographs considered an asset
• Proven experience completing projects on time in a fast-paced deadline-intensive environment
• Strong understanding of the interactive development process and user experience as it applies to website design
• Ability to complete projects on-time and on-budget in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to solve problems independently and in large teams
• Skilled in explaining and rationalizing creative solutions (yours and others)
• Knowledge of agriculture considered an asset
