We are actively seeking an Associate Creative Director with 6+ years in web, digital design, or creative environment AND 3+ years of experience in a design team lead or manager role, with expert level experience in interactive, web, visual, UI, and branding experience to drive creative output across a range of projects and client. The right candidate will be a storyteller, thinker, and collaborator, with the ability to communicate design ideas, solutions, and process on both strategic and tactical levels with clients and the internal team.

This candidate will be a seasoned pro who can manage a small team AND be hands-on with design projects (i.e. provide direction and produce work), from conception to execution. He or she must thrive in a high-volume agency environment with aggressive deadlines and is looking to grow within that agency. This person will work closely with our Creative Director to improve all aspects of the agency’s design services, including creating standards for best-in-class digital experience design delivery. This person will also be responsible for nurturing high-level client relationships and drive solutions and ideas.

• Collaborate with strategy, development, and project management team to define project requirements and scoping needs
• Translate client and project objectives into strategic creative concepts
• Concept and create designs, as well as participate in all aspects of design execution as needed
• Projects include web design (concepts to production), UI Design, visual brand identity, UX/UI design systems, infographics, videos, animations, print, visual guidelines, and campaigns
• Conduct check-ins and keep track of day-to-day design team progress
• Help Project Managers and Resource Managers with design team availability and resourcing
• Champion clarity between the design and production team
• Lead brainstorms and generate ideas that have a thoughtful approach and actionable results
• Provide visually creative solutions for projects to agency Creative Director and Project Leads
• Act as a vital link between the client and the design team
• Cultivate an inspirational and motivating culture within the design team
• Be responsible for the development of the design team, including conducting reviews, goal setting, and mentorship
• Help improve standards and processes for design delivery
• Manage the relationships with and creative direct outsourced partners and vendors such as illustrators, photographers, and videographers

Client Facing:

• Responsible for the quality of design work and work presentation leaving the agency across the board
• Participate and provide support in the presentation of design work with clients and key stakeholders
• Articulate and defend the value of your designs in design critiques and client presentations
• Establish healthy and productive relationships with client stakeholders to facilitate feedback and communications
• Serve as the main point of contact on escalations for design-related questions and issues on your projects
• Be a part of the pitch team for new business
• Presentable, inspiring, and professional communication
• Active listening and understanding of client needs


• Annual Salary: $90 – $120K

• 6+ years in web, digital design, or creative environment, and 3+ years in a creative team leadership role (digital agency experience preferred)
• Recognized expertise in interactive, digital, visual identity, and collateral design
• Strong working knowledge of design fundamentals—interaction design, user-centered experience design, responsive design, brand development, digital marketing, and the creative process—as well as new platforms and technologies
• Ability to design concepts as well as supervise design staff on multiple projects.
• Strong ability to provide clear creative direction, and direct team members in meeting client and project objectives
• Ability to work with multidisciplinary departments to ensure success
• Excellent presentation skills and communication abilities at all levels of both internal and client organizations
• Excellent relationship management skills and proven leadership skills
• Knowledge of the digital design ecosystem/landscape and understanding of industry trends and best practices
• Strong ability to prioritize work and resources across engagements based on short- and long-term need
• Expert experience with all creativity, design, and prototyping products, including XD, Sketch, Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign, InVision, …
• Serve as point of escalation for all design-related activities
• Strict attention to detail
• Ability to prioritize and focus on multiple tasks in high-pressure situations
• Strong oral and written communication
• Outstanding computer skills
