Just think about it: Imagine coins wearing corsets.
One of the oldest enterprises in the world, Monnaie de Paris collaborated with the iconic fashion designer of all-times, Jean Paul Gaultier and released a limited-edition currency series called “France by Gaultier”. The French designer illustrated sailors and femme fatales on the silver pieces and 24 coins are represented in total to symbolize France and designer’s approach in theme.
To publicize the project, the communication agency of France, La Chose preapered an amazing, digitally animated video, which focuses in Paris. The film has directed by Hugo Ramirez and illustrated by Leïla Courtillon.

The 2b-animated story is between a man and a woman who are already the characters of Gaultier, as we all know from his all-time products of fragrance bottles. They are chasing each other through the Parisian buildings and illuminate the cityscape via perfect illustrations.
The limited-edition collection includes 24 silver coins of 10 Euros, 2 silver coins of 50 Euros, 2 other colored silver coins of 50 Euros and a gold coin of 200 Euros.
The all-times Designer, Gaultier comments,
At first, I was a bit surprised and skeptical about this proposal. I did not see how a drawing or idea could make something so small. I had worked once on jewelry and we had galley. And then they showed me Asterix coins. I was blown away. Finally, I met Joaquim, the chief engraver. A wonderful artist. We immediately had a real dialogue, a real love at first sight. In the end, it was happy, fun and exciting,
The advertising campaign of the project by La Chose will be broadcast full in TV, press and digital. The collection of the currency is on sale until Feb 24, you can buy online or through the post offices.
