A new campaign for Renault Sweden creates a car called ZOE that writes Jack Kerouac’s fan fiction via artificial intelligence.
Created by the Swedish agency Edelman Deportivo, the project is titled “Written by ZOE”. To demonstrate the 400 km range of the electric vehicle, Renault writes a chapter for the car to describe the story ‘on the road’.
On The Road is the cult classic novel by American writer, Jack Kerouac. The brand modernized the story, and created a new one for every driver using data from the car’s internal and external sensor. While the story is being filmed, the features of the new car are explained by the narrator.
Let’s watch the advert here:
The stories are composed through live-driving data from Stockholm test drive of ZOE by the help of artificial intelligence. The data turns into stories and the device writes unique stories for their drivers. Therefore, the 1957 based-novel meets millennial technology and it’s very cool.
The device has sensor data and the car gets the story ready in real-time. For instance, if the driver goes slowly, the story takes a slow path, or if it’s sunny, it takes another. So, every story will be different. Later on, each driver gets a printed version of their own story using a thermal printer and a Raspberry Pi with a 4G-modem.
Renault brings technology and classics in style and the idea is very unique. By the way, Renault ZOE looks pretty cool!
