As we all accept 2018 as the “Queen Year”, Google’s latest spot proves this by using the legend’s Flash track referring Pixel 3.
Like a homage to ruined photos, Shun the bright side and take better low-light images with Night Sight, sings Queen. Since Google released its Pixel 3 smartphone a couple of months ago, the tech giant has been pushing the new device with ads from every angle. A gentle, musical spot with the voice of Mister Rogers aired a month ago, and a comedic series of reluctant iPhone-to-Pixel switchers landed just this week. The keypoint for the company is, “Lose the flash, not the moment”.
There are feature-based pitches, too, including this energetic ode to the Pixel 3’s Night Sight mode, which enables photos in low-light conditions without the harsh glare of a flash, here lampooned in a quick-hit series of failed shots. Grimaces, squinted eyes, painful blinding and hands raised as shield dominate the montage by Joan Creative, which is set to the staccato beat of Queen’s “Flash,” from the schlocky 1980 comic book film “Flash Gordon.”
“Flash! Savior of the universe…Save with a mighty hand every man, every woman, every child” might be a perfect fit for the new smartphone!
