Now You Can Use Google Maps While You’re “Catching Pokémon”

The most hit mobile game of the moment, Pokémon Go is rising in popularity. Google Maps has a new “Catching Pokémon” feature.

Pokémon and Nintendo are developing a new training tool with the help of Google Maps. The announcement on Google’s official blog is motivating players to become Pokémon masters with this new Maps feature.

You can hit “Press Start” after you download the newest version of Google Maps. To begin your quest, grab your Poké Ball and start your challenge. To access the challenge, open the menu for the Maps and go to ‘Your timeline’. If you haven’t used Timeline until now, you need to activate it before you can start tagging your Pokémon Go adventures.

You can watch the introductory video:

After this, Google Maps Timeline will track your daily movement automatically. More importantly, you also have the option to modify how you travel point-by-point.

While there’s not much to this feature, it’s certainly a nifty addition; as currently Pokémon Go does not offer a tracking functionality.

You can access this feature in the newest version of Google Maps on iOS or Android.
