Facebook Adds Live Streaming “Instant Video” Feature To Its Messenger App

Owing to high demand for video communication on social media, “Instant Video” has come to Facebook and it’s only a lightweight add-on to the Messenger.

Facebook announced an “Instant Video” add-on its official blog yesterday, where they said that every message is unique and personal and instant video will let you put a smile on a friend’s face.

It works easily, if both users have the latest version of Messenger and are having a conversation, a mere tap on the video icon in the top right corner starts the real-time video sharing. Users can actively text at the same time while the video is running. Your friend can watch the video stream and share a video back if they want to.

Facebook Messenger has a video chat option like FaceTime since May 2015. However, the company wants more video usage of its platform, so today it’s introducing an add-on to the text messages that lets you share a video from a window inside the Messenger app.

Facebook Messenger is available for both iOS and Android.
