AnOther Magazine has released a first ever, high-definition, digital magazine cover with Rihanna’s two minute video clip.
Launched during Paris Fashion Week, AnOther Magazine, PCH and Alexander McQueen have collaborated to make this futuristic dream a reality, bringing the latest technologies to a traditional magazine format.
This innovative magazine experience brings together the worlds of fashion, technology, publishing and music. Using its LED screen technology, users watch Rihanna’s two minute video clip as they might with any other streaming video content: plug in speakers to the control panel, press play, rewind or fast forward.
An exclusive moving cover film captures pop pin-up Rihanna celebrating the fashion of Alexander McQueen, alongside a specially created soundtrack compiled by John Gosling. Rihanna’s moving image filmed by Inez and Vinoodh is displayed on the digital screen which wraps around 440 pages of fashion, interviews and more.
In Audio mode, flick through the magazine to The Sound of McQueen, an album-length soundtrack compiled especially by John Gosling from the best of Alexander McQueen show music. The magazine is also rechargeable via USB connection.
It was part of a special series documenting McQueen’s legacy of the past, present, and future, as depicted by stars in fashion, film, and music. On the cover, Rihanna sports a black mask designed by McQueen, as part of a series featuring three covers meant to honor the fashion icon’s legacy.
The table furniture was priced at $125 and there is only 1,000 of these devices in the world. The digital and print fusion has broken new ground for the future of luxury brand publishing.
