Cannes Lions has announced the launch of “Creative Data Lions” for the 2015 edition of the festival.
Cannes Lions has announced the launch of the Creative Data Lions, and expanded Innovation Lions which will form a part of the new, two-day Lions Innovation Festival, within this year’s International Festival of Creativity. In June 2015, big data will get its own category at the festival.
Philip Thomas, CEO, Cannes Lions Festival, said,
The Lions Innovation Festival will highlight how data and technology can be powerful catalysts for creativity. It will be fascinating and exciting to see how – or indeed if – these new tools are being used to improve the quality of our industry’s ideas.
Actively recognising the growing relationship between data, technology and ideas, the new Creative Data Lions and expanded Innovation Lions are products of extensive industry consultation. The Creative Data Lions will be added for standalone and branded technological solutions, adtech platforms and models. The awards will likely be the only full category to debut at this year’s festival and they will celebrate the role of data in shaping ideas, better storytelling and engagement. In addition to the awards judging, there will be a program of talks and demonstrations.
Lions Innovation will blend inspiring talks from industry game-changers with revolutionary product demonstrations, networking events and the inaugural Lions Innovation Festival and Awards in a unique two-day event during the 2015 International Festival of Creativity.
The Lions Innovation Festival takes place on 25 and 26 June 2015 in the Lerins Hall of the Palais des Festivals, closing with the new Lions Innovation Awards. Entries will open on 22 January 2015.
