Consensus Interactive And Lifespan Teamed Up To Help You Find Your Doctor
Lifespan and Consensus Interactive came together to achieve one goal – help people find the right doctor, faster.
With its expanding network of over 1,800 doctors, spread across 6 hospitals and over 150 practice locations, Lifespan needed to create a powerful, but simplified doctor search experience. Powered by Algolia, the Lifespan Find a Doctor Search uses filters and facets, synonyms and geo-search, to help users find the right doctor by name, location, specialty, or area of expertise – one keystroke at a time.
The result is an incredibly efficient, user-centered experience, with results that change in real-time as the user enters more information.
In addition to being the fastest doctor search, our tiled design allowed us to display all the critical information about each doctor right on the search result pages, including multiple locations, directions, specialties and most important: a phone number. And Consensus Interactive have incorporated the ability for users to watch videos about each doctor without leaving the results page, employing a card-flip functionality.

We replaced Lifespan’s legacy content management system with a robust Acquia-powered Drupal CMS, and a doctor search enabled by Algolia, to bring 6 hospitals, over 150 practice locations, and hundreds of centers and services with more than 1,800 doctors, into one precedent setting digital experience. But most importantly, we gave people the resources to feel better, faster.
The Doctor Finder uses Algolia’s filters and facets, synonyms and geo-search, to help users find the right doctor by name, location, speciality, or area of expertise – one keystroke at a time.
