Instagram held a festival in Cologne to celebrate Instagram Stories. The project is executed by Wieden + Kennedy Amsterdam under the tagline “Stories are Everywhere”.
Wieden + Kennedy Amsterdam launched “Stories Are Everywhere” campaign, for Instagram Stories. The multi-channel billboards launched in the U.S., Italy and Germany in April, and the ads were inspired by how creative users can get with bstickers, brushes and live videos.
The festival, held on June 24, featured the German influencer Dagi Bee, a giant confetti cannon, a donut wall and several other Stories inspired activations. The work yielded 26 films specific to the event, with shots pf trams in Milan and cinemas everything in Cologne, from the floor to the toilet signs
In the video compiled by W + K, users made their own stories by imitating realistic videos like documentaries, animal videos, sports and so on. To promote the festival, W + K used over 270 billboards and guerrilla out-of-home efforts, appearing on train stations in Philadelphia and Milan.
Bekah Sirrine, Executive Creative Director at Instagram, said in a statement,
We intentionally mirrored the experience of Instagram Stories itself, so all of the executions were short, fun, and surprising. We didn’t take ourselves too seriously because that’s what connecting with friends on Instagram is all about.
It’s such a good idea to hold a festival for the world’s most popular social network and make Stories more trendy. Besides the event, the billboards look very cool and alive.
