Amazon’s trending TV show, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel picked two Golden Globes tonight, the series took home awards for both of its nominations, Best TV Comedy Show and Best Actress, who plays the title role, Rachel Brosnahan. The period comedy was competing up against Black-ish, Master of None, SMILF, and Will and Grace. The series is about a housewife living in late 1950s New York City who decides to run a stand-up comedy after her marriage falls apart.

As the Series Creator, Amy Sherman-Palladino accepted the award, she briefly thanked the cast and crew, and also Amazon: “Their support was completely unwavering at all times. Every check cleared. We’re never leaving.”
As Brosnahan accepted her award, she said,
This is a story about a bold and brilliant and complicated woman and I am endlessly proud to be a part of it. But there are so many women’s stories out there that still need and deserve to be told. So as we enter this new year, please, let’s continue to hold each other accountable and invest in and make and champion these stories.
The Gilmore Girls creator, Amy Sherman-Palladino was picked up by Amazon for a two-season order last April. The first season landed on the streaming service in November.
