ADAO Designs and Launches New Website for Civil Engineering Contractors, Ivor King
Ivor King is a family owned business, specialising in piling for commercial and residential builds. The firm has been operating in the construction industry for over 50 years.
The team at Ivor King reached out to ADAO earlier in the year, with a brief to update their existing website. Although their site was responsive for mobile devices, the user flow was disjointed and the menus overbearing for those landing to the site. The website interface design was also starting to look a little tired and lacking in creative curb appeal.
The exact client brief was as follows:
Whilst there is nothing intrinsically wrong with the existing website, we want to make it look more current and add some new features. Our aspiration is to have the ‘best’ website in our area of expertise, exceeding the present offerings of our direct competitors.
Our desire is to add a news section (please see our social media pages; we have lots to say!) and highlight our Case Studies with an interactive map. We will want the ability to edit the website ourselves and add new elements, such as photos
and embedded videos, as we wish. We would also want to occasionally create new pages, as we do at present with the existing website.
In terms of navigation and content, several areas of the business have come to the fore since our last website refresh in 2017. Whilst piling will always be the main thrust of the business, we want to highlight other areas of Ivor King with increased emphasis. Examples include Plant and Pile Hire, Transport, and in particular our fledgling Training Centre.
We already have some idea of what we would like from a new website – better navigation via a mega menu, clean and simple design and a landing page with moving images to showcase the sort of company we are. But that is not to say we have a completely fixed vision of what it should look like – we remain very much open to ideas as well!
The team at ADAO loves a detailed brief with a breakdown of requirements. This really supported their creative team’s understanding of the direction the team at Ivor king were looking to take, right from the outset and project kick off.
As ever, ADAO kept close communication with the client throughout the project, informing them of progress along the way. They are delighted with the outcome of the project; as is the client:
We decided earlier this year that Ivor King’s website needed a complete overhaul and with a few ideas of what we wanted in mind (some ideas were firm, others sketchier), we started the search for a web design agency that would not only turn our vision into reality but could interpret our ideas and take them to the next level. From the moment we engaged the services of Adao Agency, we felt like we had struck gold; their level of support throughout has been superb and the quality of their work nothing short of outstanding. This project was always going to be a massive undertaking for us and from the start we endeavoured to be ambitious in our vision – after all, we are an aspirational business that likes to discover new horizons! ADAO met our early conceptions with an enthusiasm and creativity which brought them to life and turned them into something really special, whilst involving us in the creative process every step of the way. We are delighted with our new website and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the professional and receptive team at ADAO to anyone looking for the inventive skills needed to create a superior internet presence. Hats off. Oh, and if you haven’t already, please take a look at ivorking.co.uk to see what we mean 😍
