MOBGEN creates a safety virtual reality experience with Oculus Rift 3D glasses!
May 6, 2015 was the 9th Shell Safety Day, a day dedicated to safety awareness, testing and commitment, where all employees are encouraged to take time for safety by sharing good ideas and practices.
MOBGEN created a safety education for its global partner, Shell, on this day by utilizing the Oculus Rift DK2, an upcoming head-mount display device that invites you into the virtual world by giving you a view of virtual reality, similar to the one that you get in real life.
Providing a stereoscopic 3D view with incredible depth, scale, and parallax, the Oculus Rift is a great tool for stepping into the virtual world stretched beyond one’s peripheral vision in a 100° field of view.
The participants were tested on the bases of their skills and knowledge in dangerous situations and how they challenged each in a stimulating and engaging way. They were required to pass their safety tests while virtually immersed.
MOBGEN successfully managed to showcase the advantages of this next-generation technology. The event turned out to be a huge success that prompted a lot of interest for testing skills in the near-future.
