A Former Submarine Base In Bordeaux Transformed Into The Biggest Digital Art Center Of The World

In April this year, Bordeaux will welcome its first digital art center, which will be estimated as the largest in the world. It’s first exhibition will be dedicated to Gustav Klimt and looks to be nothing short of spectacular.

The world’s largest digital art center

Bruno Monnier, President of the Culturespaces said,

After the Atelier des Lumières, we are very excited to create this huge digital art center for the city of Bordeaux. The Bassins de Lumières will offer unforgettable visual and audio experiences in an extraordinary space, a place where culture is shared and open to all audiences.

Bordeaux has its sights set high with the launch of the Bassins de Lumières, which is already establishing itself as the largest digital art center in the world. Following the shape of the former submarine base, which has since been converted into an exhibition space, this new art hub designed by Culturespaces will no doubt be immense. Everything has been very well thought out to totally immerse its visitors and awaken all their senses into the work of the artists in honor at the center’s upcoming exhibitions.

For the huge launch being prepared, the challenge was taken up by the teams of Culturespaces who will open the doors of the Bassins de Lumières with a grandiose exhibition dedicated to the works of Gustav Klimt. When considering the phenomenal success of the Parisian exhibition at the Atelier des Lumières which attracted over 1M visitors, it is expected the same level of enthusiasm in Bordeaux. The Gustav Klimt exhibition, with all its gold and color will open the floor, and it is due to be a sensational immersive experience shining light on the most beautiful paintings by Klimt and his successors, which will be reflected into the water of the four pools.

In parallel to the exhibition, a short program will be dedicated to the German artist Paul Klee and the digital work of art Ocean Data which will take over the Cube, a separate space dedicated to young artists. We are already excited to see this spectacular exhibition.

Les Bassins de Lumières will be open from April 17, 2020, Impasse Brown de Colstoun, 33000 Bordeaux. You can access to the early tickets of the exhibition.
